SVIDEO S-VIDEO Cables and Adapters
SVIDEO CABLE Definition
S-Video is simply an acronym for Separate Video. This S-Video signal breaks out the Luminance(Y) and Chrominance(C). The chrominance signal contains the color information; the luminance signal carries the black and white or brightness information of the video signal. This separated transmission of the video signal provides better picture resolution with less noise than does the standard VHS format.
SVIDEO Cable Structure/Design
This requires two coaxial cables RG59 (75ohm) to allow for separate transmission of the two parts of a video signal.
SVIDEO Cable Resolution
S-Video (also known as separate video and Y/C) is a signaling standard for standard definition video, typically 480i or 576i. By separating the black-and-white and coloring signals, it achieves better image quality than composite video.
